This late 19th Century Japanese hand-painted porcelain tray is in underglaze blue with mythical lion dogs on a ground of scrolling foliage with painted mark to reverse.

In the latter part of the 19th century and into the 20th century many Japanese manufacturers made pieces specifically for sale to Westerners often in Chinese style as was the popular style in the West at the time. 

CONDITION: Excellent antique condition with some wear to be expected from age and use. Free of breaks or repairs.
