Vintage Black Oaxaca Barro Negro Ewer / Pitcher / Jug Pottery

$0.00

This vintage pitcher is Mexican black clay Oaxacan pottery referred to as Barro Negro (possibly from the Dona Rosa workshop). Dona Rosa was the innovator of Barro Negro pottery. The pitcher is not signed. It has a bulbous body with a long tapered neck that resembles a snake. There are linear incised motifs around the neck of the pitcher and the center body of the pitcher.

It is a lovely piece of pottery.

CONDITION: GOOD vintage condition. Age appropriate wear. There are nicks on the underside of the pitcher and areas of flaking paint throughout. The pitcher has a rounded bottom which does not allow it to sit perfectly flat.

DIMENSIONS: 5"wide x 6.5"deep x 8"high
